Stony Brook University Frontiers Magazine is a student-run STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) review magazine, dedicated to promote STEM awareness and education. Our goal is to communicate groundbreaking work in STEM fields, especially research conducted at Stony Brook University, to a widespread audience. We have founded this magazine to target audiences ranging from middle school students to professionals in non-STEM fields (current and future scientists, policy makers, and donors). Our team consists of Stony Brook graduate students from diverse disciplines, who are responsible for writing, editing, and promoting. We provide opportunities for graduate students to enhance their communication skills, which are essential in all career paths. We are mentored by Dr. Elizabeth Bass (Director of the Alan Alda Center, School of Journalism). We are supported by the Graduate Student Organization (GSO), Center for Science and Mathematics Education (CESAME), and various STEM departments.
